Cat Missing for Five Years Found With Neighbors

A touching story of how a cat found its way home after 5 years.

It all began with a woman in Texas thought that her cat had passed away years ago. In fact, the cat had been living with neighbors. The cat’s name was Panther, and the woman thought that it had died for the past five years. She tells the story of the cat and how it founds its way back home after a very long journey. She posted the story under the name Nguhi.

This cat was missing for more than five years

“You know how you lose a person or pet and you wish you had one more day with them just to let them know how much you love them and how much they mean to you? I just had that day with Panther. I never would have guessed that 5 years later I’d get to kiss his little head again. ”

“Hi I can’t believe this is real because I am still in shock but my first pet ever my cat panther just came home today after going missing FIVE YEARS AGO. FIVE. YEARS. AGO. “

It turns out that after the cat had gone missing, he turned up in a shelter and was about to get euthanized. Thankfully he was saved and adopted and lived with a woman in another city. During this time, Panther was renamed as Charlie. She had the cat for a while but when she couldn’t look after him anymore, she gave him to her parents. The parents turned out to be the next door neighbors of Nguhi. It took some time, but eventually they realized who Charlie was.

Panther the cat, also known as Charlie the cat

“Our neighbors were as flabbergasted as us and insisted we keep him because he really was ours. We (I was overruled) decided to give him back since he was comfortable there and we already have a dog and cat. It was heartbreaking but I can’t even be sad because today was truly surreal.” They ultimately decided that Charlie will stay with the neighbors but Nguhi can visit any time.
