As dog owners, one of the hardest things to do with dogs and cats is to trim their nails. While some pet owners do not agree with this practice, this is a necessity for some owners if they want to keep them from scratching themselves or others. But pets don’t necessarily like the act of cutting their nails. But this ingenious man found a way that would be easier for him and his dogs.
Kendall Peifer said that his Boston terrier Oliver hates getting his nails clipped and he would often squirm and get away from her during the process. This often caused a problem and it took a while to complete clipping all of his nails. But then Peifer’s dad came up with a brilliant idea. The next day, Peifer’s father bought a large purse from Goodwill. He then cut holes in it to fit the dog’s legs and placed Oliver inside the bag.
He then hung the purse from a pull-up bar with the dog Oliver inside it. He then gave the dog some comforting scratches around the neck so that he wouldn’t get scared. But now he was free to cut the nails of his dog without the canine squirming away. Not only was he able to do it without any resistance, but the dog was able to stay put without having to go through a struggle.
“It worked surprisingly well and Oliver did not squirm at all,” Kendal wrote on social media. While it is easier for Kendall and her dad, we have a feeling that Oliver still does not like getting his nails clipped.
