When Tim Griffin found out that his golden retriever Molson was diagnosed with terminal cancer, he made up his mind that he would make the most of what was left of the time he had with his best friend. The doctors only gave Molson 3-4 months left to live so Griffin came up with a plan by writing a bucket list of things to do with his dog to help them enjoy the last days together.
So far the pair has been going on several adventures that have been enjoyable for both Griffin and Molson. They have traveling on a convertible with the top down, they’ve been camping in the wilderness, rode a helicopter, played under a waterfall, and many other epic activities. One of the many highlights also includes Molson finally tying the knot. Molson married his long time girlfriend Josie, a black Labrador. The ceremony was attended by more than 30 people, with Molson even donning a top hat and tuxedo to accompany Josie in her white dress and veil. Griffin says its bittersweet, but he wants to make sure Molson enjoys his last days on earth.
“The diagnosis was a shock at first,” says Griffin, “When you hear the C word you think it is a death sentence. He has good days or bad days, and the lump on his nose gives him pain, but we have been taking him out and doing things outdoors with him. He loves the water so we thought of different ways to get him into it, like taking him to a waterfall and a hot tub. He also loved riding in the convertible, you could see his ears and lips flapping.”
