Man Visits Shelter to Brush Cats and Take Naps

Green Bay man visits shelter to pet the cats and sometimes he falls asleep

In Green Bay, a man by the name of Terry is known to visit a local no-kill shelter to brush and pet the cats there. It is completely voluntary and he does this for the cats as much as for himself. The man even occasionally falls asleep during his visits to the shelter. But the staff at the animal shelter doesn’t mind that Terry takes naps because they know how much he genuinely cares for the cats there.

The shelter in Green Bay is the Safe Haven Pet Sanctuary Inc. It is a no-kill shelter, meaning it won’t put down the animals that it is taking care of, even when they are over populated. However, this usually means that not all the animals get the attention and care that they need. But thanks to volunteers like Terry, most of the cats get to be groomed and brushed at least once during their time at the shelter. The animal shelter posted photos of Terry taking a nap with the casts and thanked him for being a great volunteer.

“We are so lucky to have a human like Terry. Terry just came along one day and introduced himself. He said he’d like to brush cats. Eventually it became every day.” the shelter wrote. “He brushes all of the cats, and can tell you about all of their likes and dislikes. He also accidentally falls asleep most days. We don’t mind – Cats need this! Terry is a wonderful volunteer.”
