The black-footed ferret (aka the American polecat) is currently the most endangered land mammal in America. They’re very cute, and they need our help.

Recently, the government has come up with an amazing (and quite frankly, adorable) plan to help keep these cuties alive for much longer: Peanut butter drones.

Now, this is the type of innovation I like to see.
The drones actually carry tiny blue pellets that taste like peanut butter, but are actually a vaccine to fight the sylvatic plague, which is killing off prairie dogs, the black-footed ferret’s primary prey.
This idea was reported on a few weeks ago, and is now a reality.

Way to go, US gov!
