Adopting a dog can change your life. But it can also change the course of that dog’s life. It’s a very important decision that can impact so many individuals. So when it comes to first impressions, it is very important you these dogs are presented in the best light possible. That is what this photographer is doing when she created online dating profiles for shelter dogs.
Sometimes the pictures that are posted in online shelter websites don’t do justice to the dogs that are up for adoption. Sometimes there are videos of the canines for a more accurate idea of what the dog is like, but even that fails to capture the true nature of a dog. So shelters are now looking to create stunning profiles for the dogs to get them adopted.
Photographer Rachael Rodgers is doing just that. She is working with an animal shelter to create beautiful portraits for the dogs that are there. Hopefully these profiles can help attract potential dog owners to adopt. Her goal with the shelter is to feature as many adoptable dogs as possible for maximum exposure. So far, Rodgers has photographed over 30 dogs.
“Every dog has an amazing and unique character that has to show in adoption photos,” Rodgers said.”Potential adopters can see if it’s a dog who’d fit into their lifestyle.” Rodgers herself has two dogs that she adopted from shelters, named Denali and Beans. She also features these two dogs on her Instagram account, where they have amazing pictures. In fact, she had gotten a large following after one of the pictures of Denali went viral.
