In Elk City, Oklahoma, a man went viral after he brought in his pet in a store that says it would be welcoming of any pet. The reason why it has gotten so much attention was the fact that the man was a cowboy and his pet was an adult horse. He entered into a Tractor Supply store because he didn’t want to leave his horse tied up in the parking lot.
According to reports, the cowboy saw the sign, but he also asked first if he could bring the horse inside. “He said, ‘I’m a senior here to buy senior horse feed for my senior horse. Can he come in?” said Robin Morris, who was also shopping at the store at the time. Morris also took a video of the man and his horse and posted it on social media, where it quickly went viral.
The employee wasn’t sure so he asked the manager who pointed out that the sign outside the door did say “All pets welcome.” And so the cowboy came into the store with a horse. It may sound unusual to call a horse your pet. But in fact, most people consider their horses more than pets. Some people would even consider them to be family.
But you can see the hilarity of the situation. When the store posted the sigh, they were probably thinking along the lines of dogs and cats to be brought it. They never thought an animal weighing a ton and wearing hooves would be led in by a cowboy as its pet.
